Fashion Watch: James Reyes

Fashion Watch opens the season with a trendsetting forecast of kaleidescopic power.  Designer James Reyes' collection of eye-popping hues in languid and fluid fabrication is stylesetting a refreshing take from past season's structural expositions.  Inspired fom renowned pop art illustrator Patrick Nagel, pieces displayed a collective narrative of soft lines recreating ingenious interpretations of modern graphics.  Comtemporary silhouettes in light-luxe fabrication echoed chicness in almost lightweight and airy appeal perfect for the summer to come.  Skin is in as hemlines rise high throughout the collection with a parade of short quirky dresses, assymetrical cuts and a lot of leg exposure. The designer's artistic and whimsical aesthetics were intelligently fused into the pieces as seen in fantastical crafty fascinators, striped buttons(in varying sizes) and clutches(by Janina Dizon Hoschka). The overall look was an outstanding visual presentation of modern origami reinvented with forward cuts, paneling, coloration and folds.  Truly an artful take on fashion that goes beyond borders.
