Return to Eden

Paradise--the word to describe Shangri-la Boracay for its beauty set with nature. Just got back from a work/vacay trip to what can be called a five star experience.  The scene wa like an aztec structure fused with Polynesian/Asian design to create this wonderful garden of eden.  Shot a wedding fashion editorial against the breathtaking panoramic scenery that's almost picture perfect.  Was lucky that the weather was quite cooperative(considering its bipolar behavior in the weeks that passed) and the team was able to produce outstanding results.  Lush greens cover the 12.5 hectare property as they come together to hold hands with the sparkling sand and welcoming waves of the ocean.

Grand entrance.

The lobby.

Linear equations.

Of flowers and metals.

A take on geometry.

Shop til you drop.

Into the wood.

Faded hues.

Lounge act.

My favorite.
Coffee or tea?

All that's grand.

Natural flow.

Linear perspective.

The afternoon view from the lobby lounge.

Can you see the hanging chimes?

A study on symmetry.

To the horizon.

Dine by the poolside.

Shangri La Boracay's landmark.

Watchful eyes.

Face to face.

Friends, Romans and countrymen, lend me your ears.

Arch of stone.

Fountain of youth.

Walk this way.

Museum worthy.

Wooden tablets on the wall.

Nestled at the tipping point of Boracay island, the luxurious haven transports you to a different world where one's seclusion and privacy truly matters.  If you're looking for a place away from the scene, Shangri-La Boracay perfectly tops the list. Majestic with an overwhelming grand allure,it is no doubt that the resort is one of the best in the Philippines and is truly world class. Watch out in the coming days for part 2 of this entry.

Shangri-La's Boracay Resort and Spa is located at Barangay Yapak, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan 5608, Philippines.  For inquiries call (6336) 288 4988 Fax (6336) 288 5088 or visit
