The G Spot

Since more than a month ago, every Friday we have started a habit of having our Allure( A section of the Philippine Star) family get together before heading to work at the far away Port Area. Last Friday, we were recently invited to G Hotel Manila and check out the latest from their offerings. This luxe boutique hotel is the latest addition to the roster of premier hotels under the prestigious Waterfront Philippines, Inc. Echoing minimalism in elegant black and white sleek interiors and state-of-the-art facilities, the stylish Zen-inspired masterpiece designed by renowned architect Gerry Contreras boasts of fifty well-appointed rooms and suites that suit every guests’ lifestyle needs which include: thirty deluxe rooms for twin sharing; ten deluxe rooms with king-size beds; and, ten deluxe suites.  The chic haven along the historic Roxas Boulevard presents a lifestyle concept with top-notch personalized butler service to business executives and leisure travelers plus a spectacular view of the majestic Manila Bay sunset.

One of their main attractions is dining at the new and improved menu of its premier interactive all-day dining coffee shop, Café Noir.  The cafe boasts of a sumptuous lineup of Asian and International fusion cuisine. Chef de cuisine Marcelo Tesalona’s signature creations include the Waterfront eggs benedict, U.S. beef burger, Southern fried chicken, and Caesar salad. Other must-try selections are the mushroom cappuccino cream soup, boursin ravioli cheese, shellfish romesco, pan-seared grouper fillet with balsamic drizzle, roasted duckling, roast basil salmon, grilled pepper tenderloin with cabernet sauce, Balinese fried fish, Kari ayam, Bokkeumbap, Bam-I, black secret, among many others.  If you feel like chilling out, Mirage pool bar is perfect for light snacks and cocktails the al fresco way from 6pm to 2am.
