Fashion Watch: Jerome Lorico

Young Filipino designer Jerome Lorico once again surprises his audience as he recently unfolded his Fashion Watch Spring-Summer 2012 collection at the Lobby Lounge of the Shangrila Makati. Inspired from the classic tale “The Old Man and the Sea” by Ernest Hemingway, the predominately gray themed forecast fashioned androgyny in chic urban form.  Taking form from the last published work from the Nobel Prize in Literature, each creation depicts a narrative of style deeply rooted from the designer's aesthetics. The story comes to life in modern knits and wool seamlessly creating tailored and layered look for the season to come. There is a hint of modern sportswear throughout the impressive collection echoing a modern urban statement quite relevant to the times. Progressive, forward and fashionable, gray matters in style-fitting pieces that tells a story accentuated by bone-like accessories from OZ.  Summer fashion is not so stereotypical with the ingenious and brilliant point of view of designer Jerome Lorico.

Fashion Watch: Oj Hofer

Opposites attract in a fusion of sensibilities presented in Fashion Watch Quartet series featuring on of Cebu's finest designer's--Oj Hofer.  Inspired from Frances Bean Cobain, daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, the renowned designer's Spring Summer 2012 collection was a successful mix of something dark yet girly.  There was a feel of rebellion and edge in contrasting hues such as pink and black--Rebel Ballerina.  Minimalism echoed throughout the collection with hints of luxe in a unique study of oppositions. The subliminal juxtaposition and style injections were displayed in summer fabrics such as gauze, stretch tulle, organic cotton, and linen.  Oj Hofer's statement was presented in dresses, seperates and long gowns with clarity and distinction in an intelligent point of view. An interesting collection of mixed ideas in a refreshing perspective of fashion beyond the norm.

Fashion Watch: Dennis Lustico

All about eve is the theme behind top designer Dennis Lustico's recent Fashion Watch Spring Summer 2012 collection held at the Lobby Lounge of the Shangri-la Makati. Captivating impressions of women through various excerpts in their lives,  the ultra feminine and romantic fashion narration is a tribulation on the significant facets of love in a woman's life. Inspired by the song "Una Historia De Un Amor", the masterful collection presents piece by piece a light and interesting storytelling of love in its various stages. Touching the heart are hues of creams, ivories, corals and shades of grey were his chosen color palette in chiffon, organdi, crepe. Noticable acents were the Thai silk with buttons and other details adding a distinctive trademark. Movement was in the air and the key element wherein the entire feeling was very relaxed, unrestricted and carefree. Lustico's collection were "real" pieces and one could almost feel an emotion that's so uncompromising and unpretentious--channeling the true essence of fashion. Adding sparkle and complimenting the collection were accessories from Joanique, a jewelry line by self-taught jeweler, Malou Romero.

Fashion Watch: Francis Libiran

Red carpet glamour was all over the Lobby lounge of the Shangri-La Makati as designer Francis Libiran presented his Fashion Watch SS 2012 Collection. "I want my women sexy and sensual." according to this celebrity designer who showcased a parade of stunning pieces ready for the spotlight.  The Fashion Watch first timer displayed a rich palette of jewel tones and metallic in sheer fabrication.   Interesting accents seen in the collection were pieces with electric pleating used as detailing. One can't help but notice dramatic low back details and cut-outs creating a feel of sexy in sophistication.  Evident is the transition of silhouette from figure flattering to loose pieces complimenting a wide market range the designer caters to. Libiran's look has a clear statement which is all about modern sexiness available to all. Highlighting the glamour feel in every look are jewelry from globally renowned designer Arnel Papa while fabulous on the radar shoes provided by Janylin.
