Religion is one of the testaments of the development of culture and tradition in the country. Having been under Spanish rule for more than 300 years has landmarked amazing and beautiful pillars of faith that remain as part of the local landscape today. Last Holy Week, this author was able to visit Manila's most celebrated churches and marveled at their architectural wonder. Each masterpiece (built at least a minimum of a hundred years ago) is characterized by its iconic patron, distinctive design and the grandeur of style. The perfect setting for momentary reflections on faith, culture and history that was at one moment in time.
