Celebration: 30 years of Kenneth Cole New York

This 2013, Kenneth Cole New York is globally celebrating its 30th year in fashion.  Recently, the global household name presented their Fall 2013 collection at their newly opened branch in High Street Central, Bonifacio Global city, Taguig. My team was luckily commissioned to style the 24 piece ensemble that was flown in directly from New York.  It was an amazing experience  having been able to work with the brand's principal from their main office in New York.  The intimate but well attended event was graced by Manila's top glossies, broadsheets, personalities and fashion insiders. It was an awesome showcase of runway pieces that are beautifully designed and made from the best quality materials.  The unfolding of the coming season's trendsetting statement defines the epitome of brand's aesthetics and style.  Kenneth Cole New York is more than just a brand but a note worthy wardrobe essential that can be celebrated for a lifetime.

A different kind of circus

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is considered as one of the top tourist and shopping

destinations in Southeast Asia.  The Pavillion, considered as the latest center of fashion and style houses more than a hundred global brands.is Showcasing the latest in global fashion from the most wanted international labels to the locals most sought after names, the stylish habitué isn't just a shopping destination  but also the cradle of the city's night life. 

At the heart of The Pavillion is a lounge cafe/bar called Circus.  The well designed cool hangout boasts of a honey comb-like bar with interesting details.  Well lit walls and corners are filled with graffiti showcasing a variety of quotes to live by.  Beautiful and distinct fixtures create an artistic sanctuary to delight the senses. Fashioned with modern touches, one can't help but notice the natural chicness throughout its welcoming spaciousness.  Perfect for the ultimate lounge lizards and understated partyphiles, this style setting is quite unpretentious and unintimidating-flashes not needed. The menu boasts of an extensive list of mouth watering cocktails, finger food and sinful desserts.The welcoming staff and crew creates a seemingly relaxed feel that's would keep you coming back to what can be called home . Definitely a nod to even the most diacriminating of taste, this chic contemporary haven of nowness is much more than your ordinary circus.

The new code

Breaking boundaries in the local denim detail scene is SM Men's Fashion's CODE BLUE.  Basic denim with the twist.  The unconventional classic makes a breakthrough by introducing color into the mainstream palette of neutrals.  No longer limited to blue, the new code is defined by modern hues and tones

Revisiting Truly Asia

Revisiting Malaysia last month completely changed my perspective on Truly Asia.  Having been to this country a couple of times before really didn't tickle this author's interest since there wasn't really much too see --wrong.  The Muslim nation is rich in heritage and was mesmerized with its national treasures. Colossal monuments of both old and new have captivated my heart with amazement as they unfold in front of my eyes. Enchanting structures rich in history  build the nation's pride as one of the top tourist destinations in Southeast Asia. From traditional to modern bridges, beautiful and gigantic mosques, amazing palaces, historical hotels, and significant monuments flash in front of our eyes was like traveling in a time machine from the past and back to the future.Touring around these spectacular landmarks, the government was quite kind enough to accommodate and provide us with undivided special treatment. The outstanding panoramic views are seamlessly breathtaking with mesmerizing architectural wonders that truly showcases an outstanding point of view. Looking into the lens unveils a picture perfect moment that's so unforgettable it will definitely last a lifetime.  

The grandeur and monumental visual feast of Malaysia's landscape is a must-go for everyone but make sure to bring lots of sun-block-the equatorial weather can be quite taxing.  Nevertheless, its the perfect vacay destination for those who are into history, culture, tradition and the rest of it all. So much to see and so little time, it makes one look forward to coming back to a country filled with beauty of both old and new.
