Salvatore Mann holiday 2013 campaign BTS

Shooting for two days for a major advertising campaign can be quite taxing. With a huge team both on and off the set, logistics and work can be quite tedious --but it can also be a breeze. Working with friends in the industry makes everyone's experience rewarding. Recently finished the Salvatore Mann holiday campaign shoot with no other than top celebrity/TV host Luis Manzano.  Working with the actor has always been more than a pleasant experience.  With a life under the dazzling spotlight, the down to earth man about town has impeccable work ethics and modest demeanor.  His aura pleasantly defines a positive working environment for everyone.  What sets him apart from his contemporaries and most in his industry is his humility and no sense of entitlement which people can't help but admire.  Long working hours are cut short with his professionalism and dedication to his craft which most take for granted.  It was a fun-filled despite the lighting set ups which really took most of the time. Nothing but good vibes and energy with a dose of heartfelt laughters. With this kind of energy in an working environment, there's never a dull moment but just a lot of pleasantries. Among the handful in his industry, Luis Manzano truly exemplifies an actor with both style and substance. The world needs more of this modern man who's definitely more than meets the eye.

And the winner is...

Styling beauty pageants ain't an easy task with more than a dozen girls try to outdo each other.  For the second time, the style team was tasked to do the recently concluded Ms. Makati 2013 held at the Makati coliseum which was directed by Jackie Aquino and the JCA team.  The quest to the crown is quite a tedious process where both beauty and brains go through a series of tests. From swimsuits to evening gowns, the showcase of muses is an amazing anatomical display of the female form.  Behind the lights lies a high level of pressure among the ladies who share laughters and tears in between sequences and makeup retouches.  Running from one portion to another, chaos breaks loose as quick changes happen in only a few minutes as if one tries to catch their breath to make it back to the spotlight. When each contestant waits behind the stage, pressure rises anxieties come to play and hands become as cold as ice...waiting to exhale.  But no matter how toxic the backstage scene maybe, each girl wears a unfazed ear to ear smile to face the many. At the end of the night, one girl is crowned with a promising future and responsibility.  After all the grueling process , the title is really all about service and beauty with a purpose.

Bright Ideas (taken from Allure, Philstar

Men’s fashion has taken a big leap in the local retail scene. What better way to welcome this change than to have a style-setting collaboration series that features the country’s foremost designers at SM MEN’S FASHION.

In-house brand Main Street takes a new spin with the iconic artistry of RHETT EALA. He reinvents the classic menswear with his traditional silhouettes that have taken a modern tailored appeal in current shapes and forms. His contemporary lines and construction are defined in sleek, tapered and slim-fit wardrobe essentials.

The designer also brilliantly recreates the denim into stylish and functional pieces such as blazers, jackets and polos for day-to-night dressing. Cool casual to dressy ensembles define trend-based looks that are not only stylish but are also fashionably relevant. Bright hues are added to a range of mod neutrals to help update the classic palette.

The “swagger-like” look of Main Street is a successful fusion of sporty-street influences seen in its latest and innovative collection. Moving forward, the noteworthy collaboration of both brand and designer creates a higher standard in the world of local menswear RTW. Undeniably, it gives a brighter perspective for SM MEN’S FASHION in fashioning the times.
