We Are Young

Work becomes play when kids are involved.  The look and feel of things around you becomes a decade younger.  The style team recently had a two day shoot featuring kids shoes from nonetheless but the Philippine retail industry's giant among giants--SM.  With kids there are a lot of proppings, clothes are more colorful and the mood is all in the spirit of fun.  Yes, the very young play a big role too in the retail scene, without them, the whole essence of a department store won't be complete.  Going back, one thing quite evident in these kiddie photoshoots is the overload of sweets such as candies, gums, cookies and chocolates.  Waaaaahhh all time sugar high.  The kids love it so much and they always seem to have endless energy.  The sight gives one a moment to look back and recall at one point we filled in the same shoes.  Oh well, there's still a child in each and everyone of us that comes out probably once in a blue moon. Just a thought, could it be the secret of youth?

Made to Measure

SM Mens Fashion recently shot their holiday campaign featuring three gorgeous looking models namely Hideo Muraoka, Benjamin Tang and Drew Rivera who all represent the different style personalities and characters defining the brand.  Gearing up with the season's stylesetting trends, the must have pieces are definitely something to look out for in the months to come.  The focus is on the new take on modern tailoring in refreshing silhouettes and on the radar hues.  Lots of suits, jackets, blazers and knits to fill one's wardrobe. Retail fashion is raising the bar and fearlessly moving up in fashion forward appeal.  Here are the BTS of the shoot photographed by Frank Hoefsmit and makeup by Bobby Carlos for Max Factor.

Play Ball

Basketball is the national sport in the Philippines.  From the major cities to far off corners in the provinces, there is no escaping the fun and exciting attraction of the hard court.  Through the decades, the ultra popular sport has found its way to fashion into the streets.  Sports Central of Sm scored a winning three point shot recently as the leading department store signed up one of local basketball's great imports-Bobby Parks.  Watch out for his up and coming print campaign soon, in the meantime here are a few behind the scenes from the shoot as well as the style teams outfit lineup :-)

Point of Shoot

Shooting day.  Last week, the team had two major shoots one was for men's shoes and the other was for ladies bags at the Elite Studios in A. Venue, Makati. We had quite a big group and decided to take snaps of everyone since the author hasn't logged in an outfit entry for quite awhile.  There were new faces in the team and they easily blended well with everyone.  It was hard stuff and fun as usual but despite the long hours at the end of the shoot we still had a smile on our faces.  There maybe a bit of a struggle here and there, but it never felt like stress--everyone gives extra room for patience.  The goal is to produce the best creative output to meet the requirement and with this the mantra is always "All for one and one for all". Work never feels like work if you love what you're doing and you're in the company of family.
