Denim united

This summer denim introduces a refreshing spin on denim.  For Spring-Summer 2014, Diesel launches its latest collection entitled "We are connected".  Conceptualizer by the brands current artistic director Nicola Formichetti, the visionary campaign centers on celebrating individuality with ingenuity and bravery wherein gangs, cliques, families, and tribes in micro cultures are used as subjects. The main statement is to promote the diversity of artistry and the antithesis to the status quo.  United through the classic denim, no one is alone as the brand brings together fa whole new perspective of realizing both fashion and style.

In the Philippines, Diesel is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI) and is located at The Power Plant Mall, Bonifacio High Street Central, Greenbelt 3 and Shangri-La Plaza Mall.

Fashion Reality

Fashion is a universe of style on its own. Diesel continues to revisit its workwear roots with the SS’12 collection and resumes the preview collection’s style concept of clashing the opposing worlds of work and formal garments. This season the brand introduces welcome to Worksville, a utopia where dressy elegance is an expression of happiness, and hard labor is the ultimate leisure activity. The collection presents by contrast a clean and sharper deamnor in modern utilitarian feel. The look combines a feeling of tough functionality that's a little more dressed up. This summer a casual daywear wardrobe comprises of jackets, pants, light knits and shirts. Uniform and engineer outerwear are fused with formalwear details, such as double breasted lapels, worn out of context as dressy jackets and coveralls. While workwear pants and chinos are reinterpreted with contemporary carrot fits.
The collection adopts an inverse approach to treatments than usual.Dirty gets a clean look with a “bleached out” effect that adds to the lighter summer feel of the collection. Denims are pushed to the extreme in the “Light Exposure” 5-pockets denim offer, which are the purest examples of true Diesel DNA washes. The usage of classic workwear blue and white stripes and Prince of Wales check fabrics, typical of formal summer suits, is complemented with a color palette elucidated by light ecru, blue and pastel highlighted with contrasting indigo colors. A palette of sage green with off white gives an outdoors feel to lighter garments, including short chinos, polos and short sleeved shirts. Diesel's Worksville is all about living fashion in reality.

Birth of a Nation

Welcome to Diesel  Island where the first pioneers dreamt of a virgin place to forge their own society. Its the birth of a new nation where it  takes only what’s great from the countries we know. Where the laws are re-written, social wrongs corrected to create the real land of the Stupid and home of the Braves. The pioneers need to turn the Successful Living philosophy in a set of principles and prescribe their own rules showcased in the new development of the brand’s campaign--the writing of Diesel Island constitution. The Diesel islanders take the Be Stupid manifesto of having balls, letting go, creating stuff, throwing it all in the air and seeing where it lands. The only global interactive campaign of the moment, on Diesel’s main site each picture will be featured as a pop-up book, with a different animation, representing one of the laws of the Constitution. Along with the set of laws, the election of a government where social networks serve as polling places: a facebook application, an Island TAB, a YouTube Channel, and digital gadgets on FlickR. A video will be broadcasted across social media sites: a parody of a musical, where the pioneers sing the principles of the Diesel Island Constitution. The Diesel Island campaign will also be integrated into e-commerce: by clicking on any item, a panel is overlaid, allowing a clear appreciation of the clothes, complete product information and a direct link to buy. The future of the island is yet to be revealed.

Denim Evolution

Have you ever been on an island or a place where freedom rules and you can just do anything and everything under the sun?  Imagine yourself on the set of Survivor, Lost or some remote isle in Pirates of the Carribean where everything is stripped of all its modernity and everything on the horizon is nothing but a picture of the endless sea and skies. Well, this 2011 denim brand Diesel launches its summer campaign "Be Stupid" in a whole new world they can claim their own--Diesel Island.  Where fashion is liberating and style is born to be free, the    birth of a nation is celebrated via interactive component one can participate in online.  Sounds like fun right?

New Beginnings.
On high.
Land of no bondage, Land of the Free.
Chic castaway.
A pioneering initiative complementing the traditional media outburst, the bold move presents the Diesel website fully integrated with the campaign.  The denim world will transport virtual visitors to the island and help build the new society in shaping its laws, watch videos of island life, meet its citizens.  If any of the pieces worn captures your interest, you can buy island-friendly clothes via the interactive catalogue. In forming the world's youngest country, all Diesel stores will become the official “embassies” of the island, with flags, maps and explanations of the philosophy. As one enters an embassy, everybody gets the chance to have the official Diesel Island citizenship. A new adventure for everyone to get excited about and definitely a chic evolution in Diesel nation.  And to give you a glimpse of the their nation- building, here are some behind the scenes pictures of the campaign.

State of the Nation.
Break-taking.
Denim all lined up.
Buggy afloat.
I stand alone, and have conquered.
Ready for the taking.
