Style Origin 7: Cebu 2

So loving the landscaping of the Ayala Center here in Cebu... wished all the malls in Manila were the same.  There are greens everywhere, one can't help but have a feeling of being close to nature.  The author woke up early today and decided to take pictures of the area before the mall opens and avoid the maddening Sunday crowd.  Don't forget, it's the day of the show and with Rico Blanco playing, it's no doubt we'll be expecting a multitude.

Leading the lines.
Mall in the contemporary.

Green revolution.
Green-scape.
Feast on chlorophyll.
Life in pattern.
Field of greens.
In the afternoon, Rico Blanco had sound check and with it came final rehearsal.  Everything was falling into place despite the semi-gloom doom weather.  Rain or shine the show must go on.  Racks of clothes from the brands participating starting coming in.  We had three tents beside the backstage--one for Rico and the band, the other two were both dressing rooms.

The towering Blui Arriola.
The stunning April Duenas.

Stunning beauty.
The beauties behind the blowers, powders and the blush from David Salon.
And after everything has been set, said and done... the rain stopped in Cebu, it's finally SHOWTIME!!!
Exclusive pass.
Sequence guide.
A toast to show host/model Blinky de Leon.
Now that's what I call a massive crowd.
Ayala's wonder woman in the making, the sweet Mikmik Corvera!  We love you!!!
Style Origin Cebu had the best crowd and every song Rico performed was super applauded.  The energy onstage, director's area and backstage was all about synergy.  Wouldn't mind doing the show all over again--this is style on a high note!  See you on our next leg this weekend and this time the team is off to Pampanga :-)

Style Origin 5: Alabang Town Center

It was Sunday and we figured this one would be a working but fun experience.  Going down south to Alabang from Makati can be done 12 minutes via the newly opened Skyway--so rushing to catch the second rehearsal by noon for the Style Origin show wasn't going to be a problem at all.  Without it, it would have taken us an hour to get there.  Call time for the models for their first rehearsal was at 9am, for our team it was around noon.

Stage setting.
No other production I.D. so today I was a model.
The flow of the show.
Director Jackie Aquino (in black), my team and parents of the kids participating in the show here waiting for sound check.
And the band played on.
Models minutes before rehearsals seemed like a haze.
Ms Resorts World- PMAP model Wendy Tabulasa with a good morning wave.
The set up in the mall was almost the same as Glorietta except for two things:  first, the backdrop of the stage was white(instead of red--check out my previous entry) and lastly, backstage was a wee bit small.  36 brands, 12 big racks,40 models, 36 dressers, stylists and production staff--backstage was a riot.  Anyway, we managed to come even before our scheduled time and this author took snaps of the rehearsals.  And for a sunday morning, this wasn't just your ordinary wake up call.

The styling team had to step out for a bit outside the mall to take snaps for this entry.  That day was really hot and we were rushing to do this photo op because we had to hurry to go backstage.  The show was going to start early because there were again a lot of cute kids involved. But we never fail to strike a pose.

The band playing this time around was the show's favorite rock star--the famous Rico Blanco (who also did our Trinoma show).  Spirits were high and energy was quite upbeat.  It was a 35 minute event and everyone seemed to have a great deal of fun.  We are having a quick break for the Holy Week holidays but Style Origin will be back for the Market Market event on April 30.  Hope you guys can still follow us for the remaining five events for the series.

It's a wrap!!!
