Pattern Play

Two days ago was an easy pullout day and by mid-afternoon we decided to treat ourselves to ice cream at our favorite Ice Cream Bar( posted in an earlier entry) in Rockwell.  Decided to take pictures of the area around us to try to capture linear perspectives of the surrounding buildings.  Leading lines and vanishing points have always fascinated me with their play of symmetry.  So much inspiration can be drawn from these towering man-made monuments.

All boxed up.

Acute angles.

High rise.

Perfect cone.

A puzzlement.
In the middle of my random point and shoot we were stopped by security.  Unfortunately, shooting of structures is no longer allowed-weird!  Tried to steal several shots but the security guard was keeping an eye on us.  So we decided to continue the fun and started taking picture of ourselves.  Geometry to many may just be Math but as I reviewed the pictures in my camera I found our defining lines up close and personal.

Afternoon Delight

Noelle in a white top by Mango, denims by Topshop, black belt by H & M,
ballet flats by Banana Republic and bag by YSL.

Bianca in a white tee by Zara Basics, Navy capri with belt by Pimkie, brown leather braided heels by Zara, watch by Givenchy and bag by Goyard.

It was one afternoon of catching up with everyone(well almost since more of a handful weren't present) after the holidays since schedules were quite hectic and some weren't in town or just semi incognito.  More importantly spending time with one of my "kids" who's currently in town, New York based photographer Noelle Hernandez and returning from her studies in Paris Philippine Star fashion columnist Bianca Salonga. The venue was held at the Ice Cream Bar located at Joya building in Rockwell where they serve good ice cream in a variety of mouth watering flavors (they also serve sandwiches, pasta and other hot dishes as well). Modern, well-decorated and quite inviting, Ice Cream Bar is a super chic quaint hideaway from the scene to be scene.

Heaven in a bar.

Mod interiors.

The ceiling which looked like butter curls.

Light matter.

While waiting for everyone to arrive, we starting exchanging stories while having desserts, cups of coffee and tea one after the other. Photographer Joan Bitagcol arrived and minutes after she was followed by makeup artist and Vinyl on Vinyl co-owner Pia Reyes. Luckily, the owners were undergoing food tasting and was kind enough to make us try a possible addition to their menu-ice cream pizza. And if there's one word to describe it-FAB!!!
Sweet intoxications.

Joan wearing a gray long sleeved cotton top by gap, denim shorts by Levis, dotted printed belt

Must try super yummy banana cream crunch.
Sweet for my sweet.

After much exchange of tattle tales, teasing and laughter, there's nothing better than quality time with good friends.  The wonderful exchange of energies gives a natural high that's quite gratifying and uplifting. Last to arrive was designer Joey Samson, fashion stylist Corine Alegre and photographer Sara Black.  Wishing we were complete and had more time though but am definitely looking forward to the next.

Brief encounters.
