MET OPEN 2014

5 Curators and 208 artworks all for a benefit exhibition is the essence behind MET OPEN 2014.  Ongoing at the Metropolitan Museum of Manila along Roxas Boulevard,  contemporary art of both old and new create a brilliant and outstanding tapestry of a genre currently spotlighting the local landscape. The MET OPEN seeks to promote a better understanding of past, current and evolving themes etc significantly relevant and existent in the local art scene today.  From the 520 entries only the exhibited art pieces made the cut.  Abstraction, painting, seriality, pop culture, myth and symbolism were the themes in a glorious display of two-dimensional artworks, sculptures with installation performance, photography, video and ceramics.  
At the second floor of the museum is the MET's Upper Galleries "The Philippine Contemporary:  To Scale the Past and the Possible-over 200 artworks drawing chronological and current references from the survey exhibition.  
A must-go and see to everyone, the outstanding showcase of contemporary art in the Philippines is inspirational and optimistic of the best that's yet to come.

WHAT YOU'RE MADE OF

Sept 2014 - Ray-Ban Philippines had a whole day event at 71 Grammarcy as it unveiled and celebrated their latest style-setting attraction.  The iconic eyewear label launched their 2014 Material Revolution "WHAT YOU'RE MADE OF" with a press presentation in the afternoon showcasing a walk through Ray-Ban experience.  At night, it was the ultimate celebration party where one can be yourself and NEVERHIDE.

The current fashion statement focuses on "LIGHT and COLOR" throughout their collections. FLAT METAL  presents through their iconic Wayfarers and Aviators laser cut stainless steel with thin and lightweight frames. URBAN CAMO wears the Wayfarer with trendsetting camouflage in four multicolored patterns. LEATHER WAYFARER transforms the icon with ultra chic statement by wrapping the frame with texturized calf leather.  LITEFORCE stylizes weight with high performance thermoplastic material making it uber light.  Function and form breaks through fashion in contemporary eyewear. Aside from these major collections, it includes GUMMY MATTE( nylon frontal and metal metal temples creating gummy matte feel), ALUMINUM CLUBMASTER( gold or silver trimmed frames in matte-finish aluminum in 4 frame colors), FLASHLENS(brilliant multi colored eyewear coated with super heated metal oxides) JUNIOR( iconic sunnies for kids), FULL COLOR AVIATORS( the iconic pilot design in classic and new frames and colors) and ICE POP( summer hues influence the Wayfarer with an icy touch).
